The Details:

  • February 12, 6:15p - 9:15p
  • Instruction provided by: Audrey Edwards of Sweetflour LLC
  • Class Type: Demo & fully hands-on

One of the most asked questions with sugar cookie decorating using royal icing is, “How do you make royal icing the right consistency to decorate with?” If you struggle with getting your icing to the right consistency or just want to learn how to make royal icing and use it to decorate sugar cookies you see in Pinterest, this class is for you!

Join Audrey Edwards owner of Sweetflour LLC for a hands-on experience as she takes you through the royal icing making process from scratch. You will use the icing made in class to learn how to color and thin down to different consistencies. Then, under Audrey’s instruction, you will learn how to use these varying consistencies to create these Valentine’s Day themed cookies.

During class, participants will also be given tips on how to bake beautiful cut-out cookies that won’t spread in addition to learning how to make and use royal icing and its various consistencies.

Participants will leave class with a basic understanding of how to make royal icing and how to apply sugar cookie decorating skills to cookies at home!

The following will be provided in addition to the royal icing you make, color and bag:

  • Vanilla-Almond Flavored Sugar Cookies
  • Icing Decorator Bags
  • 1 Laminated Practice Sheet
  • 1 Boo-Boo Stick
  • Photo of finished cookies
  • Supply List
  • Sugar Cookie and Royal Icing Recipe
  • Box to Take Your Cookies Home
