The BEST technique to acquire in the kitchen: Knife Skills! In this hands-on workshop we will demonstrate all of the basic cuts and then turn it over to you to get some practice in. While we are chopping away, we will discuss everything you need to know about the anatomy of various kitchen knives, stainless steel vs. high carbon steel, storage, cleaning, and sharpening of knives, and the best cutting boards on the market. Come join us and learn all of the cuts you would in your first semester of culinary school: oblique, chiffonade, julienne, batonnet, brunoise, and MANY more! We will, of course, be snacking the entire time using some of our veggies cuts paired with chef-prepared dips and our signature East Elm House Party Mix.
Participants will also receive an exclusive shopping experience with 10% off at East Elm Kitchen Co. the night of the event! Excluding sale items and special merchandise.
