Patio season means it is time for Rebecca & Chad to make one of their favorite at-home cocktails - a Whiskey Smash! At their May wedding, the Whiskey Smash was their signature cocktail and affectionately named "The Gus Bus" after their pup and best friend, Gus. Its zingy, refreshing flavors and bright yellow color have us feeling all the spring/summer feels!

Ingredients
- 4 oz. bourbon or whiskey
- 1 oz. simple syrup
- 8-10 mint leaves
- 1 lemon, quartered
- Ice
- 2 mint sprigs, for garnish
Instructions
- Muddle the mint leaves and lemon quarters in a cocktail shaker
- Add in simple syrup, whiskey or bourbon, and ice and shake until thoroughly mixed
- Strain and pour into two rocks or double old fashioned glasses over cubed or crushed ice
- Garnish each glass with a sprig of mint
